المثل العربي «الخروف يتقلب على الصوف» يُضرب للرجل المكفي المؤونة، الذي يعيش في راحة ورفاه، وقد تهيأت له أسباب العيش دون عناء أو مشقة. فكما أن الخروف ينام ويتقلب على صوفه الذي يدفئه ويحميه، كذلك هذا الشخص ينعم بما يكفيه.
ولا يوجد مثل إنجليزي يطابق الصورة البلاغية، لكن توجد أمثال وتعبيرات قريبة في المعنى: He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.  وُلد وفي فمه ملعقة من فضة.
يُقال لمن نشأ مرفهًا، لا يعاني من ضيق العيش.
He has it made. أموره ميسرة / يعيش مرتاحًا.
تعبير شائع لمن لا يعاني من هموم المعيشة.
He lives a cushy life. يعيش حياة مريحة هانئة.
يصف من يعيش في راحة ودعة.
He lives in the lap of luxury. يعيش في قمة الرفاهية.
يبالغ في وصف النعيم والترف.
أفضل مقابل
إذا كان المقصود من يعيش مكفيَّ المؤونة دون تعب، فأقرب مقابل هو:
He has it made.
أما إذا كان المقصود أنه نشأ أصلًا في اليسر والنعمة، فأفضل مقابل هو:
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
والفرق أن المثل العربي لا يشترط أن يكون الشخص مولودًا غنيًا، وإنما يصف حاله بأنه مكفي المؤونة، يعيش في راحة دون عناء، ولذلك فإن He has it made هو الأقرب في كثير من السياقات.

The difference is that the Arabic proverb doesn't require the person to have been born wealthy, but rather describes their situation as being well-off, living comfortably without effort. Therefore, "He has it made" is the most appropriate in many contexts.
