خَفِيفٌ عَلَى القَلْبِ.
Light on the heart.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
خَفِيفٌ عَلَى القَلْبِ
أي: شخصٌ لطيفٌ محبوب، لا يثقل على النفس، وتأنس به.
وأقرب مقابل إنجليزي:
“Easy to take to.”
أي: «يسهل أن تألفه وتستريح إليه.»
ومن التعبيرات الأقرب والأشيع:
“Easy on the heart.”
«خفيف على القلب» — وهي ترجمة قريبة حرفيًا، لكنها أقل اصطلاحية.
وإذا كان المقصود شخصًا محبوبًا ومريح الصحبة، فالأفضل:
“He’s easy to get along with.”
«من السهل التعامل معه والانسجام معه.»
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Light on the heart
Meaning: A kind and likable person, someone who is easy to get along with and whose company is pleasant
The closest English equivalent is:
“Easy to take to.”
Meaning: “It is easy to get used to and feel comfortable with him.”
A closer and more common expression is:
“Easy on the heart.”
“Light on the heart”—a literal translation, but less technical.
If the intended meaning is someone who is likable and easy to be around, the best approach is:
“He’s easy to get along with.”
“It is easy to get along with him.”

The sheep rolls on the wool. الخروف يتقلب على الصوف
الخروف يتقلب على الصوف
يضرب للرجل المكفي المؤن.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sheep rolls on the wool.
This is said of a man who has enough provisions.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. وُلد وفي فمه ملعقة من فضة.
يُقال لمن نشأ مرفهًا، لا يعاني من ضيق العيش.
He has it made. أموره ميسرة / يعيش مرتاحًا.
تعبير شائع لمن لا يعاني من هموم المعيشة.
He lives a cushy life. يعيش حياة مريحة هانئة.
يصف من يعيش في راحة ودعة.
He lives in the lap of luxury. يعيش في قمة الرفاهية.
يبالغ في وصف النعيم والترف.
أفضل مقابل
إذا كان المقصود من يعيش مكفيَّ المؤونة دون تعب، فأقرب مقابل هو:
He has it made.
أما إذا كان المقصود أنه نشأ أصلًا في اليسر والنعمة، فأفضل مقابل هو:
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
والفرق أن المثل العربي لا يشترط أن يكون الشخص مولودًا غنيًا، وإنما يصف حاله بأنه مكفي المؤونة، يعيش في راحة دون عناء، ولذلك فإن He has it made هو الأقرب في كثير من السياقات.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Arabic proverb "The sheep rolls on its wool" is used to describe a man who is well-off, living in comfort and luxury, with all the necessities of life readily available to him without hardship or toil. Just as a sheep sleeps and rolls on its wool, which warms and protects it, so too does this person enjoy ample provision.
There is no English proverb that perfectly matches this figurative image, but there are similar proverbs and expressions in meaning:
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Best equivalent: He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
Said of someone who grew up in luxury and does not suffer from hardship.
He has it made.
His affairs are easy / He lives comfortably.
A common expression for someone who does not suffer from the worries of life.
He lives a cushy life.
He lives a comfortable and peaceful life.
Describes someone who lives in comfort and ease.
He lives in the lap of luxury.
He lives in the lap of luxury.
Exaggerates the description of bliss and luxury. Best equivalent
If the intended meaning is someone who lives made without hardship, the closest equivalent is:
"He has it made."
However, if the intended meaning is someone who was born into ease and luxury, the best equivalent is:
"He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth."
The difference is that the Arabic proverb doesn't require the person to have been born wealthy, but rather describes their situation as being well-off, living comfortably without effort. Therefore, "He has it made" is the most appropriate in many contexts.
