Better than an egg in a garden. أحسن من بيضة في روضة

أحسن من بيضة في روضة
العرب تتحسن نقاء البيضة في نضارة خضرة الروضة
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Better than an egg in a garden. The Arabs find the purity of the egg enhanced by the freshness of the garden's greenery.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Like a lily in a green field" (أو "As pure as a lily")
زهرة "الزنبق" (Lily) الناصعة البياض في الأدب الإنجليزي هي المقابل الدقيق لـ "البيضة" عند العرب؛ حيث ترمز للنقاء والنضارة والبياض الشديد، وتُضرب في الجمال الناصع المحاط بخضرة الطبيعة.
2. لوصف اللوحة الجمالية المتكاملة والكمال الظاهر:
"As fresh as a daisy"
تعبير شائع جداً لوصف المظهر النَضِر، المشرق، والنقي كالأزهار البرية النضرة.
"A picture of perfection"
يُقال لوصف الصورة المتكاملة في الجمال والكمال (مثل بياض البيضة ونضارة الروضة).
3. للتعبير عن الناصع الذي يبرز في محيطه:
"As white as driven snow"
المثل الأشهر في الإنجليزية لوصف البياض الخالص والجمال الناصع النقي.
---------------------------------------------------------
The old Arabic proverb "More beautiful than an egg in a garden" is used to describe extreme beauty, purity, and the striking contrast between pure white and lush green.
(The Arabs used to compare a beautiful woman to a hidden, pristine white egg, whose beauty and purity are enhanced by the surrounding greenery and freshness.)
In English culture and expression, there is no proverb specifically based on the image of "an egg in a garden," but there are equivalent proverbs and popular and literary expressions used to convey the same meaning:
1. The expression closest to the contrast and pure, pristine beauty:
"Like a lily in a green field" (or "As pure as a lily")
The pure white lily in English literature is the precise equivalent of the "egg" in Arabic. It symbolizes purity, freshness, and intense whiteness, and is used to describe radiant beauty surrounded by the greenery of nature.
2. To describe a complete and perfect picture of beauty:
"As fresh as a daisy"
A very common expression to describe a fresh, bright, and pure appearance, like a fresh wildflower.
"A picture of perfection"
Said to describe a picture of perfect beauty (like the whiteness of an egg or the freshness of a garden).
3. To express something that stands out from its surroundings:
"As white as driven snow"
The most famous English proverb to describe pure whiteness and radiant, pristine beauty.

Sweeter than the water of the Euphrates, and sweeter than a mother's milk. أحلى من ماء الفرات، ومن لبن الأم

أحلى من ماء الفرات، ومن لبن الأم
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sweeter than the water of the Euphrates, and sweeter than a mother's milk.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"As sweet as honey"
المثل الأشهر في الإنجليزية لوصف العذوبة الفائقة والحلاوة المطلقة (سواء للشيء أو اللسان أو الصوت)، حيث يُعدّ العسل عندهم رمز الحلاوة الخالصة كما هو العسل أو ماء الفرات عند العرب.
2. لوصف العذوبة والصفاء المفرط:
"As sweet as nectar"
يُستخدم لوصف الشراب أو المذاق البالغ العذوبة واللذة (النكتار أو رحيق الأزهار).
"As pure and sweet as mother's milk"
تعبير إنجليزي موجود بالفعل ومُطابق تماماً لـ "أحلى من لبن الأم"، ويُستخدم لوصف الشيء الخالص، العذب، والبريء الذي لا تشوبه شائبة.
3. مجازياً لوصف الشيء اللذيذ/المبهج جداً:
"Like music to my ears"
يُقال عندما يكون الشيء (كالكلام أو الخبر) عذباً ومبهجاً للروح تماماً كما يكون الماء العذب للظمآن.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These two Arabic proverbs ("sweeter than the water of the Euphrates" and "sweeter than mother's milk") are used to describe exceptional sweetness, pure pleasure, and a delightful taste or effect that is unparalleled.
(The water of the Euphrates is used as a metaphor for its sweetness and purity, while mother's milk symbolizes innate pleasure, purity, and complete comfort.)
In English culture and expression, there are very common proverbs and expressions used in the same context to describe something extremely sweet:
1. The closest and most common expression (for extreme sweetness):
"As sweet as honey"
This is the most famous English proverb for describing exceptional sweetness and absolute delight (whether of a thing, a tongue, or a voice), as honey is considered by English to be a symbol of pure sweetness, just as honey or the water of the Euphrates are for the Arabs.
2. To describe extreme sweetness and purity:
"As sweet as nectar"
Used to describe a drink or taste that is exceptionally sweet and delicious (nectar or flower nectar).
"As pure and sweet as mother's milk"
An existing English expression, perfectly equivalent to "sweeter than mother's milk," used to describe something pure, sweet, and innocent, without any flaw.
3. Figuratively to describe something extremely delightful/pleasant:
"Like music to my ears"
Said when something (like words or news) is as sweet and pleasing to the soul as fresh water is to a thirsty person.
