خالص المؤمن وخالق الفاجر
أي لتخلص مودتك للمؤمن فأما المنافق والفاجر فجاملهما ولا تهضم دينك وهذا قريب مما قاله صعصعة بن صوحان لأخيه زيد بن صوحان : إذا لقيت المؤمن فخالصه وقد مر في الباب الأول

Be sincere with the believer and courteous to the wicked.
That is, be sincere in your affection for the believer, but as for the hypocrite and the wicked, be courteous to them and do not compromise your faith. This is similar to what Sa'sa'ah ibn Suhan said to his brother Zayd ibn Suhan: "When you meet a believer, be sincere with him." This was mentioned in the first chapter.

المثل العربي «خَالِصِ المؤمنَ وخَالِقِ الفاجرَ» معناه: أخلص المودة والصحبة للمؤمن الصالح.
وعامل الفاجر أو المنافق بحسن الخلق والمداراة دون أن تمنحه ولاء القلب أو تتنازل عن مبادئك.

فهو يفرق، كما يفرق المثل العربي، بين الإخلاص والمودة الخاصة، وبين حسن المعاملة والمجاملة العامة.
